Scales will developing your tone and technique. Here is one way of learning them: Name the notes in your scale remembering the key signature. Name a note and then move your fingers. Only move your fingers. Play the scale Try learning the names of the notes away from the music, remembering that a scale is simply a row of notes in alphabetical order.
Scales are the most basic building blocks in music. That's why it is a good idea to take the time to practice them thoroughly. But be careful: don't rush! Practice really needs time. Start playing slowly and strive for accuracy. Only when you've succeded in playing exactly and evenly all the notes of a scale you should start increasing speed.
