Color In Sight I A Documentary on the Details of Color in Design by TEALEAVES
The art of color and design
A work of art can be analyzed by considering a variety of aspects of it individually. These aspects are often called the elements of art. A commonly used list of the main elements includes form, shape, line, color, value, space, texture and perspective. The list can also be shortened to just five elements consisting of line, form, texture, colour and pattern. Lines and curves are marks that span a distance between two points or the path of a moving point. As an element of visual art, line is the use of various marks, outlines, and implied lines during artwork and design.
Homage to the Square is a series of minimalist works by Josef Albers. He painted these compositionally very similar pieces for many years, but the subtle variations in color combinations allowed a large field for exploration. They exemplify minimalism in painting, but I also admire how much nuance or shall we say complexity there is in every single one. The interplay between subtle shades and tints of a single color, or the effect of a combination of harmonious colors gives each painting a unique meaning and an unmistakable effect. Because of how directly we experience the spatial effect of color combinations, these minimalist works can be great study assets for graphic design.
When it comes to free ebooks, recent years have seen a lot to offer. Of course, there's always been a healthy market for design written by experts, and this isn't likely to change any time soon. Sometimes there's just no substitute for splashing your cash and getting high quality content in return. But there's a growing movement towards free and 'freemium' content on the web. And the quality of the content is often on a par with the books you'd part with cash for.
