Winter's Bone - Trailer
By Calliope , August 3, in 21st-Century Fiction. Winter's Bone tells the story of teenaged Ree Dolly. She's bright, ambitious well, as ambitious as she can be - she recognises the limitations of life in her backwards white trash community and wants to get out of there - by joining the army when she can and desperate. Left to look after two younger brothers because her father has disappeared and her mother had a mental breakdown, she has had to leave school. The little family is just getting by when a bailiff arrives to tell Ree that her father has jumped bail - and had put their home up as security. The story is very simple. Ree must find her father and make him attend court, or prove he is dead.
