If you have a reluctant reader, a really great series is like magic! My boys helped me compile this list, which includes some of their very favorite book series from elementary school. As always, if you have any great recommendations for this age group, please leave a comment letting us all know! Many libraries have summer reading programs to encourage kids to keep reading. Why should kids read series? I know my kids start to think of favorite characters as friends. That encourages reading because when you have a friend you want to read all about her further adventures! So, be prepared to bring home stacks of books home from the library.
