They really loved making all of the different elements: taping, wrapping, sewing, beading, painting and pom-pom making. It was a very busy three hours. Before getting started, I looked up the history of the dream catcher so that I could share it with the kids. The dream catcher, when hung over or near your bed swinging freely in the air, catches the dreams as they flow by. The good dreams know how to pass through the dream catcher, slipping through the outer holes and slide down the soft feathers [or pom-poms!

Long ago in the days of the ancestors, some of the children of the people were having strange, frightening dreams.
